Funding helps plant a native forest

With funding from Waikato Regional Council, trustee Ian Brennan has planted a native forest on his farm - Cassie’s Farm and Woolshed. Ian’s farm is a wonderful example of how to treat steep hill country that’s unsuitable for grazing.

NNF Final Report

Tāne’s Tree Trust completed our Normalising Native Forestry (NNF) project in 2024, funded by the Tindall Foundation.

This exciting project’s expansive work is covered in our report here (PDF, 2.97 MB).

We wish to thank numerous contributors for supporting the expansion of this project into further projects like Transitioning Exotic Forest to Natives, Accelerating Landscape-scale restoration of native forest, Valuing the
provision of Ecosystem services on private land and our recently launched Factsheets.
